About the Project
Meet Paul and Teddi, a charming couple from Flower Mound, Texas. One day they planned to sell their beautiful home before retirement. Unfortunately, there was an eyesore to solve before that happened.
Imagine walking into a beautiful home, first entering the cozy formal living room, next towards the open kitchen, and then… gasp! There loomed an ugly “Fred Flintstone” fireplace in the family room.
This monstrosity certainly did not fit their classic style, nor did it fit their lovely home.
Before Remodel
The Process
Our team carefully removed the caveman-looking fake stone, hauling away over 3,000 pounds. Removing the stone transformed the entire room. Next, we refinished the fireplace wall with new drywall, texture, and paint including a soft gray accent wall color over the cabinets on either side which highlighted their tile selection.
We custom fit and tiled the fireplace surround and hearth with our customer’s lovely large format soft gray tile.
To top it off, we designed a handmade mantle using carefully selected wood, created with a custom stain color for contrast that beautifully matches the existing wood floors.
The Result
Just in time for the holiday season, Paul and Teddi now have a gorgeous center piece for their family gatherings.
Plus, there’s still ample room for Paul to sit in his favorite spot on the now smooth hearth!
No longer in the caveman era, we delivered their updated minimalist fireplace design into the heart of their home.
